Introduction:
As the Department of Health continues to review and process License applications submitted by Registered Surgical Practices (a.k.a. One Room Centers), State Inspectors are performing scheduled survey inspections of all facilities that have applied for Licensure. It is imperative that internal processes, documentation, facility and staff members are prepared in anticipation of upcoming and future survey inspections. Up to 7 State inspectors can be expected on site for a survey inspection. These inspectors are typically nurse surveyors, a pharmacist, sanitarian, architect, etc. The survey inspectors request numerous items for review while assessing the physical plant for functionality vs. FGI guidelines. Our review and assessment process will ensure your facility and staff are prepared.
Assessment:
During our initial meeting, in addition to a limited assessment, our team will provide you with information regarding what to expect during State survey inspection. We will review requirements of NJDOH Standards for Licensure as well as how to ensure your facility and staff remain prepared and in compliance for future unscheduled visits by State Inspectors. An important aspect of our initial assessment is determining the current level of the facilities’ compliance as it relates to the Regulatory Standards. Our assessment and follow up discussion will provide valuable insight and interpretive guidance, allowing you to make educated decisions as you take steps forward.
Retention of Services:
Once retained, we work directly with you (and your staff) to discuss compliance in all areas as specified in N.J.A.C. Title 8 Chapter 43A, Standards for Licensure of Ambulatory Care Facilities. Due to the complexities of the Licensing Standards, not all projects require the same level of service. Some Surgery Centers require minimal assistance with areas of compliance, whereas others require a more hands on and high touch approach. Contact us today to arrange for a consultation in which we will provide you with an understanding of the services required to be ready for inspection by NJDOH or an Accrediting Body.
