The ACF Model
In the Multi-Disciplinary Practice model for non-physician owners, the integration of an MD or DO to provide Pain Management services and clinical consultations is essential for broadening the scope of care offered to patients. Establishing the practice as an Ambulatory Care Facility (ACF), licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health for Primary Care, enables an entity owned entirely by a non-physician—such as a Chiropractor, Physical Therapist, or business professional—to legally employ a Physician and operate within a compliant structure.
The ACF License for Primary Care is rapidly becoming the preferred and most reliable standard for Multi-Disciplinary Practices throughout New Jersey. This licensure model not only supports clinical expansion but also provides non-physician owners with a higher level of operational security, regulatory clarity, and long-term sustainability.
